The man that said it was poorly made I must say I strongly disagree. I have had mine for atleast 8 years or so and it seems you got a bad one. I guess we should all be allowed a mistake every once in a while and apparently Kitchenaid did. But I have to admit you're the first. I hope you are happy with your replacement and hope to see another review from you if you are now satisfied. I think Kitchenaid products are wonderful. I have a 2 door Kithchenaid Fridge w/freezer on bottom and it is huge and wonderful. I have lots of Kitchenaid products and will definately rate them in high standard. Sorry about your experience. This product is absolutely timeless. I don't know how anyone manages cooking without one. There is no mixing task this machine can not handle. No kitchen should be without one of these.

I have not opened the mixer yet because it is for a Christmas gift but I received the gift promptly after purchase.
